Accounting essentials

What should you bring to an accounting consultation?

A little preparation makes the first conversation more useful.

Describe your business

Prepare a short description of what you do, how you earn revenue and your recurring expenses. Identify whether you need clarity on profitability, cash or accounting processes.

Gather available records

Organise sales and purchase invoices, bank statements, contracts and payroll records where relevant. Keep originals and arrange copies by period and document type.

Identify the gaps

List missing documents and open questions. Do not send passwords or sensitive financial files through a general enquiry form. Agree on an appropriate document-sharing channel first.
